A Brief History of Thailand

The Four Regions of Thailand

Thailand is geographically and culturally diverse, divided into four main regions:

Northern Thailand – Mountainous, cooler climate. Famous for sticky rice, mild curries, and Lanna culture.

Central Thailand – The heartland, including Bangkok. Known for royal cuisine, refined flavors, and dishes like Tom Yum and Pad Thai.

Northeastern Thailand (Isan) – Bold, spicy, and herbaceous food. Famous for Som Tam (papaya salad), grilled meats, and fermented flavors.
